Today we had a visit from Lee Ann Potter, an American woman that works as a director of education and volunteer programs at the U.S National Archives in Washington DC. She is traveling around in Norway to teach Norwegian students about American studies. When she was in my class, she where talking about The American System of Government.
For the first time I can remember, I wrote down the U.S Constitution. We got a picture that an artist in US has put together. There were many license plates put together, and if you read them in a way that you just write the words as they sounds you could see that the license plates formed the Constitution:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union establish justice ensure domestic tranquility to provide for the common defense promote the general welfare secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.
I also learned something about why we have Government in many countries. Something I knew from before is that the federal government is divided in three “branches”. This is because no one of the powers should become too powerful.
It was a really interesting theme, and I learned a lot. It was different from other classes, so that made it interesting to follow.
I'm glad you liked it, it was an interesting class. The idea with the license plates was great! It is called the preamble. A preamble is an introductory and explanatory statement in a document that explains the document's purpose and underlying philosophy. So now you know more about the American constitution!
