The Parliament has a second chamber of Parliament, which is called the House of Lords. It is the Upper house. Through centuries they have lost their power. Before they could stop laws and influence the budget. Now the function of the House of Lords is to be a revising chamber. They only revise what the House of Commons decides and pass it on. In one year it ca be as much as 1000 changes that is made, but even if the House of Lords protests, it is not normal that the House of Commons change anything. But the Lords are useful to make a second look at the legislations.

Yes they are very useful and I'm sure their work is much appreciated. It is a very different system from the Norwegian one
